Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an better service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
